How Fishe & Lilly turns damaged furniture claims into Shopify clearance products

Fishe & Lilly sells furniture through its Shopify store. When a product is returned with cosmetic damage, it may still have resale value. Claimlane helps the team turn that claim into a live clearance product directly from the case.

The Outcome

By connecting its claims process with Shopify, Fishe & Lilly created a faster and more structured way to resell damaged furniture. This has enabled the team to:

  • Create live Shopify clearance products directly from Claimlane.
  • Reuse product data and images from the original Shopify listing.
  • Add customer-submitted claim photos to the new product page.
  • Apply a configurable discount automatically.
  • Publish products to the correct clearance collection.
  • Reduce the manual work required to prepare damaged products for resale.

The Problem

Fishe & Lilly handles furniture claims where products may have scratches, dents or other cosmetic damage.

These products cannot always be sold at full price, but they may still be perfectly usable. Writing them off would mean losing their remaining value.

Before Claimlane, creating a clearance listing required the team to manually rebuild the product in Shopify. They had to find the original listing, copy the product information, upload images, calculate a new price and add the product to the correct collection.

The information needed to create the listing was already available in the claim. It was simply disconnected from Shopify.

The Solution

Claimlane built a custom Shopify action directly into Fishe & Lilly’s claims workflow.

From a Claimlane ticket, the team can create a new live Shopify product using the product already connected to the case.

The action automatically:

  • Copies the original Shopify product description.
  • Uses the original product image.
  • Lets the team select claim photos submitted by the customer.
  • Adds “Damaged” to the product name.
  • Creates a new SKU using the order number.
  • Calculates the clearance price using a selected discount.
  • Publishes the product to the Online Store.
  • Adds it to the correct clearance collection.

Instead of recreating the product manually, the team can prepare the clearance listing while handling the claim.

From damaged claim to live product

The workflow connects information that would otherwise sit across separate systems.

The original order and product data come from Shopify. The customer provides photos and details through the claim. The team reviews the product and selects the appropriate discount in Claimlane.

Claimlane then uses that information to create the new Shopify listing.

The result is a direct path from a damaged-product claim to a shoppable clearance item on Fishe & Lilly’s website.
